'Circles' Nominated for Satellite Award


Srdan Golubović's film 'Circles' has been nominated for the U.S. Satellite Award in the Best International Film category. The film that has won some thirty international awards so far – including those at Sundance, Berlin, Festroia – this time ended up in the selected company of films such as 'Blue Is The Warmest Color', 'Wadjda', 'The Past', 'The Hunt' etc.

The award is given by IPA (International Press Academy), an association of entertainment and film industry journalists. Satellite Award is given to the best films in as many as 31 feature, documentary and animated film categories, 12 TV categories, seven DVD categories and five new media categories. One of the main goals of Satellite Award is to celebrate new films, including those of established filmmakers, as well as independent and young filmmakers, enabling them to reach the audiences that would otherwise never have an opportunity to see them. In particular, IPA is trying to promote international and low-budget films.

The award-presentation ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on 9 March.
